National Sports Day


“Good players inspire themselves, great players inspire others.”
National Sports Day is celebrated on 29th August every year in India. It is the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand who is one of the most respected legendary figures in Indian and world hockey.
Sports give us a sense of identity and national pride. To highlight the importance of this day, the students of The Junior Wing of RPS School, Mahendergarh celebrated it with pride and enthusiasm. The day started with an oath taking ceremony by the students. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Pavitra Rao (Chairperson, RPSGOI). She emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. Dr. Sarita V. Singh (Principal, RPS School) said that sports not only build stamina and physical fitness but also can be excellent stress busters. Dr. Pavitra Rao and Dr. Sarita V. Singh awarded the medals and certificates to the winners of various sports events. The students watched the live programme “Fit India Movement” which was addressed by our honourable PM Mr. Narender Modi. The sports day ended with the National Anthem.
